The initial Creative Workshops have commenced online, physical workshops are not possible at this time due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The onsite workshops are being rescheduled for Israel & Palestine in late 2020 or early 2021. Young artistic talent from Israel, Palestine, Ireland and Spain will come together to develop the story, create music & song and perform a selection of scenes together on a local stage.
The workshops offer the opportunity to participate in a unique and innovative artistic project while working and connecting with musicians from other communities and traditions.
The Israeli and Palestinian workshops will be followed by ones in Dublin (Summer 2021)) where a selection of performers will merge with an enlarged artistic group to continue the development of the story, music, lyrics, choreography and stage visualization.
The team will be supported by well recognized professional musicians and singers who will provide expertise, guidance and motivation.
From September 2021, monthly workshops will run in parallel in Jerusalem and Belfast, Northern Ireland continuing to evolve the story, music and lyrics
The professional team will journey to refugee camps in Europe and the Middle East from January 2021 seeking out young talent, musicians, singers and dancers that can participate in the What About Us musical premiere.
